Pros

Some genuinely smart people around the business that are more than happy to help you grow, not a super fast-paced environment. 2 days per month to study (every 2nd Friday)

Cons

No transparency when it comes to salary bands, engineering people have been asking this for a long time only to be told with 'we're working on it', it's clear by now that the EMT doesn't care nor wants to do this, even though they will preach equity in every company meeting and say they are working towards the gender pay gap. Too much time spent on trying to be progressive and woke, don't say anything cause someone might feel offended and cry. Company has been trying to improve the feedback process over the past 2 years, funny cause they won't hear the feedback they don't like. Don't be surprised if the male engineers makes +10-15k and you as a female not. No clear framework for career progression, no-one knows what they're supposed to do if they want to move up, again 'they're working on it' But hey, they recently introduced a mandatory demo where team members must show what they're working on. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Pros

Flexible work set up Easy to advance if management likes you

Cons

Management is deceitful, will encourage you to take PTO and penalize you for doing so. Metrics are measured subjectively with no comprehensive standardization of expectations. Claim they encourage feedback and then target those who provide feedback to management or question how employees are considered in their plans. Line management will build silent cases against you and give you false affirmations about your job status. HR is not equipped to handle anything. Racial bias is prevalent.
