Pros

First access to merch, employee discount

Cons

There weren’t any except that I had to get a replacement phone right after I was hired so I was unreachable and taken off the schedule as a result. After explaining, I was given one day/week but got sick, a stomach flu then Covid back to back, so I missed 2/3 scheduled days and was told I wouldn’t be scheduled, then I was allowed to pick up shifts that needed covered but I had an emergency with my elderly mother who I just moved in with me and now care for. I was 3h late bc I had to call an ambulance for her and now my name is not even on the schedule anymore but I haven’t been fired. I also feel like a tension in the air like I’ve been judged unfairly behind my back but nobody says anything to my face.

Pros

Corporate credit card, overnight travel and meals paid for, mileage to and from stores

Cons

You are a general manager of all 3-5 stores, you are salary while your managers are hourly and cannot work overtime. You have zero work life balance. Mileage is under the IRS standard rate at $.48 a mile and they subtract 20 miles each day for “normal commute”. You have to organize the set up and tear down with little outside help. Those days are 12-16 hours in all conditions. They dangle a bonus of up to 7x your weekly wages ($1025) so 7125 max but they take over half out in taxes. A colleague of mine was fired because corperate watch her leave early on the camera systems to go to another store and they assumed she just wasn’t working. Work conditions consist of abandoned building without ac or heat, black mold and constantly told to lie to fire and building codes officers to open stores on time.
