Pros

Splashtop product is easy to use and the org is engineering heavy so the product is always adjusting to customer/industry demands. Internal teams are effective and visible. The people make the culture, and the culture of the people is fantastic.

Cons

Splashtop is leadership heavy, and had promoted a long time employee to Director level position with no real-world or Director level management experience attempting to managing senior folks in a department he had no real experience in, let alone managed. The org also reeks with a hint of nepotism. There's a "sweep the bad stuff under the rug and pretend it didn't happen" mentality. C'suite claims to be available and visible, but other than the CTO they're really not. Lack of active HR they're more administrative and have to bring on a 'consultant' when an actual HR professional is necessary - No career growth, minimal salary increase, no leadership investment or interest in employee career growth or advancement. No coaching, no consistent expectations to follow. Too many redundant/pointless internal team meetings. Required 3 days in office 7 hours a day for anyone within 50 miles seems a bit ridiculous for a "remote access" company. The lack of flexibility makes it difficult for folks with families and other obligations. no in office perks, minimal snacks are free, and you have to pay at a vending machine for drinks/other snacks. Lunches were paid for when we were required to be in office. With the lay off they made it very clear that all that matters is $$ not their employees who grew their business.
