Pros

They will hire anyone that is licensed. Good place to learn how to cut hair hands on out of school.

Cons

I worked for a few different owners and went to several huddles (manager and owner conventions) and I will say not one owner actually cares about their employees, they are only considered a number. … half of them don’t even know who their employees are because they have the store managers run everything , literally running a whole Company to get paid a salary that you can hardly live off of so that the owners are thriving. Imagine spending every ounce of energy building a business so that an investor gets rich and you can barely live. The hourly wage is terrible for how much work they require the employees to do. they make it almost impossible to make extra money with bonuses or commission because they set the bar to be impossible. Everything is corporate and has to be done in a corporate matter. During the pandemic in 2020 they opens their stores as soon as the governor allowed, while it’s great that they have their employees that opportunity to be able to make money, they didn’t do it for them , the did it for themselves and even raised prices on services but not one employee got a raise in their salary. This place will burn you out so quick , it made me hate cutting hair until I found another place that wasn’t corporate and realized it wasn’t the career I chose but the work environment. There are no real benefits, no health insurance, no 401k , no vacation or sick pay, and no paid holidays but you’re closed for some major ones? Also some stores close at 8/9 on weekdays, 7 on Saturday and Sunday and require you to work weekends….so if you’re a parent just plan to not have much of a home life.

Pros

Pay, schedule flexibility, growth opportunities, company events, benefits

Cons

The pay is excellent as long as you’re performance is strong and especially if your flexible with your schedule and full time. But if you’re not a good performer or super part time, this might not be the best place for you.

Pros

After a year of you starting you get annual raises by the Lee/Hill franchise Perkspot is another great factor! they help you find deals like the employee discounts of name brands, companies that will find you discounts on cars or houses, discounts on apparel etc. One big way the company supports you is the Wayne McGlone Fund, a fund that provides you support during major life stresses such as illness and death of a family member as well as making up for lost wages They always have continuing education for both management and skills for our career Clientele in my area are super nice, a lot of blue collar workers and great tips along with that They are flexible with scheduling and fully understand if you have a family emergency, they also offer ways to make up the hours you might have missed when someone covered your shift The franchise I work with and my direct boss our Area Manager, really do care and support my goals to advance my career in the future They also really push you to have a good life balance, encouraging people to take vacation when we don't have high needs

Cons

Scheduling can fluctuate too much for some people but that's the industry that we decided to get into
