Coworkers and environment are laid back. There aren't a lot of ridiculous and strict rules. Most everyone here is really easy to get along with. Turn over is high just because of the industry and people thinking they can handle it when they can't, so there's the potential to move up in the ranks pretty quickly. You can learn a lot here, especially in the area of keeping your cool under stress. Great for a resume. Good benefits package.
Cons
In dispatch there isn't really any room for promotion unless a manager quits. Then there's lots of people gunning for that job. If you're wanting to move into another job though, 9-1-1 dispatcher is a good thing for a resume. You see how the world really works, there's very little good in it and a whole lot of bad.
