Pros

Sprout's a great company overall. #1 product in the market and social media marketing software has been fun and exciting for the past few years. The offices are fun and have all the perks and the company offers really great benefits for people at every stage of life. There's been so much growth in the past few years, that lots of people have had opportunities to advance their careers. Executive leadership has always been communicative, and it tends to trickle down to first-line leaders as well. Sprout's full of really genuine, supportive, ambitious, very talented people, and it's clear that the company is intentional with hiring.

Cons

The macroeconomic turbulence happening with technology companies has brought challenges to Sprout that the company had never faced. Sprout has traditionally been unique because of the incredible inbound funnel for sales teams. Inbound has dried up and all teams are expected to outbound, which is normal across the market. However, there's lots of ambiguity, a lack of team and individual coaching, extreme pressure to hit metrics, and monthly quotas, and 1 bad quarter will put you on a performance plan, with no remorse or consideration of previous success. Unfortunately, managers are not experienced in cold calling, and sales teams' morale is extremely low. Sprout sales teams' compensation is relatively low and since most are not hitting quota anymore, the base compensation is not as competitive either.

Pros

This is the best company culture, and I think everything else flows from it: the possibility of new projects, the work-life balance, the benefits. Sprout invests in its people, from generous PTO and company-wide R&R Days to meeting-free focus days. The benefits package is pretty comprehensive including medical, vision and dental plans, 16 weeks of paid parental leave for all parents, a 401(k) with company match, ESPP, and real remote work (you receive a stipends for your home office) with joining the whole team in Chicago a couple times a year. On the growth side, feedback is both expected and encouraged, informally and formally. I've been really happy here.

Cons

Compensation does trend below market average for the industry, but personally, the overall benefits package and culture help offset that.

Pros

Sprout is still a stand-out in the tech industry among employers where the culture and work environment have rapidly declined over the last 5-6 years. Where many other tech companies have leaned heavily into forced return to office, Sprout continues to offer an incredibly flexible, remote-first work environment. This allows people to have lives outside of work and support their families. I appreciate that the company trusts its employees to just get the job done without requiring in-office work. Our CEO is one of the best leaders that I've had the opportunity to work for: humble, motivating, and deeply cares about the company and people.

Cons

Things move and change fast at this stage of the company, so for those coming from larger organizations or slower paced environments may have a hard time adjusting to the pace.
