Pros
Early hours so you get off pretty early in the day. Some coworkers are pretty friendly. Management staff is interactive and easy to approach.
Cons
Early hours means waking up at 3:00am to get to your shift on time. This can be a struggle for some people. They are disastrously understaffed in the bakery department. I was the only employee, meanwhile other departments have 3 - 6 people per shift. I would see other departments come in after me and get out before me since they had extra help. I was told I was working a shift that was meant for two people by the General Manager, yet my pace was still a complaint by the Assistant Manager. Since you are the only employee, when you have a day off you are risking returning to work with bakery in complete disarray. Despite all of this extra work for Bakery versus other departments, pay isn’t higher than one dollar above minimum wage at most. I was working 30+ hours, yet I was counted as a part-time employee with no benefits. An incident occurred where the Assistant Manager complained about my tardiness on a day a snowstorm was in our area. I was driving in said snowstorm to get to work. She was very demanding and hard to please.
