Pros

I loved working there for almost 5 years until we got a new Manager who was severely under qualified and lacks morals and values

Cons

I loved my job there for almost 5 years until I met our new manager at the Nampa clinic. I was discriminated against and let go for a completely fabricated reason. I was struggling with my own health during the year I was let go. There was zero understanding for what I was going through at the time, and HR is a complete joke and treats employees with fully proven diagnoses like dirt. Luckily, the judge at unemployment office saw right through this sham of a manager and caught her in her bald face lies. I won my case for wrongful termination against St. Lukes Health System. I was also prevented from pursuing college courses, even though they offer tuition assistance for continuing education and claim to support their employees. I was told that I could not get off of shift 30 mins early ONE day per week to attend class even though every other receptionist had been allowed flexible schedules for years for various reasons. I was also prevented from transferring to another location and my employee advocate was unable to provide any assistance due to my manager's "wishes." My manager also showed up to work POSITIVE FOR COVID in early 2021 and had to be asked to leave by one of the PROVIDERS.

Pros

Good PTO accumulation for veteran employees. Direct supervisors are generally pleasant to work with. Workload is more manageable compared to other local hospitals.

Cons

Benefits are lacking: health insurance is poor and matching contributions to retirement are lower than other employers. Wages are not keeping up with the rise in cost of living for the area. Most recent annual raise was higher than prior years, however raises must continue in this direction to correct the problem. HR generally seems hostile when approached with questions and are not transparent. No locality pay for Boise campus despite heavier/specialized workload and marked increase in cost of living. We have had employees quit simply due to housing unaffordability. Overall St. Luke's feels much more bureaucratic/corporate than when I started working there.
