Pros
Great peers who have been around for a long time and are genuinely willing to help.
Cons
Senior management have no idea what they're doing. They keep bringing in new senior people who don't plan to be here in the long run to "drive change" but none of them finish their job properly. The inevitable Frankenstein end-products break things, and unfortunately nobody has the appetite to fix things after the launch party because the benefits don't look great on a slideshow. Things get worse at the back end, and they bring another person in who's only interested in quick wins, and the cycle continues. I still had great hopes for the Bank until mid last year, unfortunately I cannot recommend SCB as a good place to work anymore. All the cuts being made are unsustainable despite all the internal posturing, and we're just depending on luck that nothing major has occured yet. Also, if you are in a high cost location - HK, SG, UK, US, etc, do not join this bank. They will be actively trying to get rid of you the moment you join.
