Employees are expected to do more and more with fewer resources and less autonomy. Salaries were frozen during the economic downturn and never recovered. When I started with the company, the focus was on the customer. By the time I left, it was all about profit margin. Volatile and disrespectful employees were tolerated as long as they produced the right numbers.
