Good work environment, actual AI work - Engineer Staple AI Employee Review

The culture here is truly exceptional, people are treated like human beings, with honesty, respect. The founders are incredibly kind, approachable, extremely transparent and down to earth. At any time and at calls, you can raise your voice with questions, ideas, or concerns at any time, and they always take the time to listen and offer thoughtful feedback. The two TLs who I interact with regularly, one for engineering and one for product, they also create a very supportive environment. They are knowledgeable, open, and great at giving guidance while still allowing you the autonomy to take ownership. There’s strong exposure across engineering and product, and the day to day work brings plenty of new challenges that keep things engaging and help you grow quickly. The team overall is collaborative and generous with sharing knowledge, making the entire environment productive and enjoyable.

The only con is that we feel like the pace is very slow. This company could be growing at a faster pace. The foundation, culture, and team are strong, so accelerating growth feels like the step required to not bore us since we are young and active.

The entire software development lifecycle here is remarkably structured. There are clear, proper procedures in place for repository management and ensuring high-quality code is pushed out. This commitment to process was a huge learning opportunity and ensured my contributions were meaningful and efficient. My lead engineer was an incredible mentor—helpful, knowledgeable, and provided consistent, actionable guidance that greatly accelerated my learning curve. Beyond the technical team, leadership and management were transparent and consistently kept the company informed. Regular meetings provided clear guidance and insight into the firm's policies and strategic direction. As an intern, I appreciated the abundant guidance and mentorship, which made it easy to integrate and truly understand how Staple AI develops its applications. It was a pleasure working alongside a team of great people who fostered a collaborative and educational environment.

Hard to find one, enjoyed my time there.
