Pros
Nice corporate office environment. Good benefits and adequate compensation. Good working conditions.
Cons
The IT leadership does not have the adequate experience and vision to run a midsize IT department in the 21st century. This has created a demoralized, directionless and largely inefficient department where the associates do not respect their leaders, where mediocrity is a common denominator, and where there is no opportunity for growth or advancement. The current IT managers add little value to the organization. They are out of touch with current technology and the tremendous value it can add to the company, if leveraged efficiently. They are also out of touch with the roles, responsibilities, skills and potential of the IT department employees. It is a few talented people at the bottom who actually make the department chug along, with all the obstacles and ambiguity they face as result of having almost no guidance. Most IT employees stay around just to get the paycheck and the company benefits.
