Pros

Company culture is great for the most part. Quota was attainable when it was clear as to what quota was. Product is decent.

Cons

Lacked structure. Communication was bad, kept getting told company is doing great but certain decisions point otherwise. Quota changed very often, and it was not made known until halfway into the quarter.

Thank you for leaving this review and sharing this feedback with us. We really appreciate the positives you mention about our culture and product. We are always working on implementing communication best practices and making sure people know why decisions are made, how it affects them, and what our company goals are to ensure company-wide alignment. Our quotas are based on feedback results and evaluating the inputs and outputs necessary to hit our goals. Last year was a year of experimentation with seeing what the right formula would be to hit our goals. We’ve taken all of those inputs and we have a new commission plan we’re very excited about based on employee feedback and analysis. We would rather be an organization that takes feedback constantly and adjusts our quota plans rather than making employees wait an entire year on a plan that you feel you can’t be successful against. SDR comp plans are SDR driven output, which is the main change that was made, so that SDR comp plans don’t rely on AE closed sales. This enables our SDR org to be fully autonomous in their work and impact on the org. Thank you again for sharing this feedback with us. -Marissa Walden, Global SDR Director

Pros

While we experience the typical challenges of a growing startup, leadership at Starburst is deeply committed to learning, evolving, and improving across the board—from product to culture. I’m proud to be part of a company where your voice matters and you’re trusted to make an impact.

Cons

As with any startup, priorities can shift quickly, and you need to be comfortable adapting and pivoting. It’s not necessarily a downside—just the reality of working in a fast-moving environment.
