Pros

A great opportunity to provide an opportunity of home ownership to a segment of people who may have never thought home ownership was possible. New homes that could be sold and closed in 30 days. Solid compensation plan.

Cons

Marketing was terrible, going the cheapest route instead of the most effective route. No culture, revolving door. Poor management, who were more agitators than advocates for their sales team. The sales process itself was long, tenuous, and didn’t create the desired effect. There was also no incentives to be able to market to Realtors other than being listed on the MLS. I feel like Starlight, for all its good intentions, really dropped the ball in a lot of areas.

Pros

The only real positive was the friendships you can build with certain coworkers. Some of the people I met were genuinely supportive and made tough days more manageable.

Cons

Unstable commission structure: Your income is heavily dependent on closings, and if you are no longer employed at the time of closing, you may not receive commissions you worked for. This creates a lot of uncertainty and financial stress. * Lack of job security: There is a noticeable lack of stability in the role, and turnover is high. It often feels like you can be let go at any time, regardless of performance. * Pressure-heavy environment: The expectations are high, but the support and training do not always match those expectations. * Limited support from management: Communication and leadership can be inconsistent, which makes it difficult to feel confident in your role or future with the company. * Compensation limitations: Commission caps and reduced percentages in certain communities make it harder to feel fully rewarded for your work.
