Don’t waste your time. - OTR Truck Driver Starsky Robotics Employee Review

Great idea, good execution. Fun people, company really cares about employees.

Under funded. Could not realize goals.

Starsky makes autonomous trucks that have driven public highways without any human in the truck and will do that even more. Our trucking business has been delivering freight for almost 2 years and will soon be offering regular manned and unmanned trucking capacity. I care very much about the product and the impact of the company where I work and Starsky offers a real solution to important problems in the current trucking industry. This is my first role in autonomous vehicles, but the energy of the industry combined with the great support from the engineers here has helped me learn a ton in a short amount of time. I enjoy working with the tough problems and complex systems involved in robotics and teleoperations. Looking at the market today I can't see many other places where my learning and opportunity might be better that working at Starsky. I can only imagine where we will be in 2020.

Working at a young company involves tradeoffs that may not be optimal for everybody. At Starsky you will get a significant slice of something that will produce enormous value if we execute on our plan. The roles here are broad and everyone makes important decisions that impact our product and company growth. That said, doing things that have never been done can be unpredictable. If you are looking for work with a narrow focus, large support teams, or an unleveraged equity package this might not be for you.
