Pros

No pros, except they have a good cause but such old slow and mechanical ways of working!

Cons

So many where do I start! From the burn out culture to the way they make you work two jobs to the way they talk down to you if you’re not on the same team pay grade, to the way there’s no room for career progression, to the way you aren’t able to speak up without being made to feel that you’re not capable so they could make it into a capability issue if there’s too much work instead of it being an issue of there being too much work in the first place. The turnover is HIGH for a reason. The support groups are made up of people who are already so STRESSED but are expected to contribute actively and positively to changing the culture but without getting any incentives for this extra work. I’ve worked for charities before but this one just stretches you too much mentally and physically without the pay increase, recognition of hard work and without providing you with the space to upskill as you’re always running out of steam from the 100 daily actions you have to do!! I can’t say this loud enough but AVOID START NETWORK

Pros

Nice people and great mission

Cons

Medium-sized organisation still run like a start up. Everything happens last minute, unnecessarily stressful. Very chaotic.
