Pros

-The chance to get ideas heard in a small company is great. Whether it’s assigned projects or new and developing areas of the company where you see room for improvement, there is a great opportunity to shine and make a positive contribution while gaining valuable work experience. -StateScape has great staff, both friendly and professional. We work well as a team and communication is greatly facilitated by having an open door policy at all levels of management. Staff regularly supports each other in daily workload, leave coverage, and especially during the company’s busy season. With the addition of two managers, there has been a marked increase in the sharing of tips, tricks, questions, and ideas company wide. -The remote work option is wonderful and makes for an enjoyable change of pace in work environment, although the office is a cozy building from the 1800s with no cubicles in sight. Any day without a hectic DC metro area commute is great. -StateScape has competitive salaries, but unlike many small businesses, they offer matching IRA funds to all staff.

Cons

-There hasn’t been anything I would classify as bad in my time working here. The one issue I found odd at first was that while there is a depth and breadth of experience and wisdom within the company, it sometimes needs to be written down somewhere for better dissemination. Relating back to the first point in Pros, I took this as a chance to improve operations and started gathering that information and drafting it into codified documents.

Pros

I’ve had a positive experience working at StateScape as a Client Relations Assistant. The company has a warm, collaborative culture where mentorship and professional growth are genuinely prioritized. Management is approachable, listens to employee ideas, and encourages innovation from all team members. StateScape is always evolving to meet the changing needs of clients and the policy landscape. Client feedback directly drives platform updates and service improvements, and there’s a clear commitment to quality and accuracy. Employees take pride in the work and collaborate closely to ensure clients receive the best possible service. It’s also rewarding to work for a women‑owned company with decades of experience, created by government affairs professionals who truly understand the space. Overall, StateScape is a great place to grow while doing meaningful, client‑focused work. Pros: - Client‑driven, continuously evolving platform - Women‑owned with deep policy expertise - Management values ideas and innovation - Supportive, welcoming work environment - Strong mentorship and growth opportunities

Pros

Training, flexibility, approachable leadership, entirely remote, camaraderie/great staff

Cons

Busy first three months of year, but that is because we work with state legislatures that introduce the bulk of their legislation during that time period.
