Pros

Pay was ok health insurance was good.

Cons

Was looking for a closer shop to home and found steel house indy fab/install division. Met with the president for breakfast and was told how much we were like a family here at steel house. He went on to say how the profit sharing and bonuses were going to be so great. Right from the gate was treated very poorly talked to like I was a paid slave. Never saw any bonus or profit sharing. The Forman had no business being a Forman. His experience level was less than anyone else working in the shop. He would whistle and expect you to come running like a dog. I’ve been in this industry for 20 years and have never been treated so poorly!

Pros

Personally, I am loving life at Steelhouse! SDRs are compensated well for their efforts here, and I feel like the company is doing everything it can to support this team and push for their success. (ex. hiring and supporting a GREAT sales enablement team, looking into software to help us perform, etc) The people here are warm and welcoming, management is very supportive and engaged, and even the execs take time to chat and check-in. The compensation and benefits package is also great, and I feel like I'm being rewarded fairly for the work I'm putting in. Sales is not always fun! Trying to hit quota can be stressful! But what makes the job bearable are the people around you, the tools you're given, and the rewards you earn for success -- Steelhouse has exceeded my expectations on all three.

Cons

- I'd really love if we were offered a 401K match!

Pros

Great to work for a tech company that is constantly innovating and challenging the status quo. It's refreshing to sell something that provides value to its customers and has very clear pro's over what the competition has to offer. Team sell/support mentality that isn't easy to find in a sales org. Everyone does what they can to help lift eachother up VERSUS stepping on one another's toes and internal fighting over clients that I've experienced in other sales roles. People not only care about the job but they care about you. I know that sounds cheesy but it's true and I've seen the proof on many occasions. Whether dealing with a family issue, traveling, relocation or health things that come up I feel like the company understands we are people and not robots and is very understanding. Like with every company I've worked at, I've come across a few bad apples at Steelhouse. The people that don't put in the effort but expect everything in return. Luckily those people have either quit or management has taken the initiative and fired people for performance issues/other reasons. There is nothing worse in sales than working your but off and seeing the guy next to you consistently doing nothing but get to keep his job. I've worked at places like that and it's always made me question managements decisions. Thankfully that's not the case with Steelhouse.

Cons

The sales office is separated from HQ (due to the growing size of the company) and it would be great if we could all be in one office to get more face time with the other departments. I guess as far as cons go I'm glad this is it.
