Half-ways decent place, be prepared to be overworked, underpaid, and under appreciated. - Marketing Coordinator Steffes Group Employee Review

Pros

Steffes Group does invest in their employees and that is not something you see every day. Whether it's for job training or a conference or any other sort of learning opportunity, Steffes is very good at encouraging their employees to learn and be better at what they do. That is one thing I truly appreciated during my time with the company.

Cons

Steffes Group is wonderful and very generous to their sales representatives and senior level employees. However, that treatment stops just short of their admin and support staff. Admin and support staff are often the scapegoats for mistakes and whatever may go wrong during preparing for an auction. Also, be prepared to be overworked and underpaid. Overtime is often encouraged and working on the weekend to get things done is not a rare occurrence. The benefits are quite good given industry standards but will be used against you when asking for any sort of raise comparable to similar positions elsewhere. Workplace culture is generally very good, the smaller office settings really do make for a "work family" feel. But make one mistake and suddenly the "we're a village" mentality goes right out the window. Some employees have been known to lose their temper and degrade other team mates, with no acknowledgement of wrong doing or apology after. Management quality depends on the office you work in. Every office operates differently which causes friction within the company.

Pros

Flexible, fast-growing company, very close-knit group of coworkers.

Cons

They're growing really fast but want to stay away from that 'corporate' feel and I think that might hold them back eventually.
