Pros

I am grateful to be part of such a great team and work environment. During my time with the company, I have had the opportunity to work across a wide range of departments, which has provided me with valuable experience and perspective. Whenever I have a question or need support, there is always someone willing to help. The people here are exceptional, and I have built lasting friendships throughout my tenure. The company makes a genuine effort to recognize and celebrate employees’ achievements—both professional and personal. I have always felt supported, respected, and empowered to continue developing my career within the organization. Overall, this is an outstanding company to work for. I look forward to continuing my journey here and contributing to the firm’s ongoing success. The opportunities I’ve been given are ones I might not have found elsewhere, and I deeply appreciate the culture of growth and encouragement that defines this workplace.

Cons

They allow people to complain excessively, and sometimes too much leniency prevents accountability. Better pay and more consistent benefits would also help, as those seem to change frequently.

Pros

Good people, Reasonable pay, Industry-leading deal volume. Great exposure to credit markets (you will frequently be included in discussions and expected to ask Fund Executives smart questions as a 1st year analyst)

Cons

- StepStone's Credit team is almost entirely based (80%+) in Switzerland leading to very poor mentorship and limited access to senior folks. - Offices outside Zurich Switzerland are very much satellite offices. - Deal teams are often staffed across 6hr+ time zone, - Asset classes are extremely isolated from each other (don't expect to interact with PE/RE/Infra folks). - Analysts through MD are stretched thin across multiple credit products (coinvest, fund investments, portfolio management, etc.). Everyone except the Partners seem to be drowning. - Still operates like a startup - very unorganized/ high touch processes. - No real training
