Pros
- Great job coming out of college if you want to go into behavioral/mental health - Get to work directly with autistic kids (2-12 years), learn more about the spectrum, make a difference in their lives - Maintains good boundaries and allows breaks from client (I've worked in a similar place where you had to eat lunch with your client. This place doesn't do that) - Ample opportunities to move up in company - Adequate pay and benefits - Monthly staff meetings to keep everyone on same page - For the most part, supportive environment between behavioral therapists
Cons
- Can be hectic and stressful, especially with difficult clients - Schedule varies depending on client, schedule can change without notice - Management plays favorites at times - Would prefer more communication between management and staff. Oftentimes felt a disconnect between management and staff. Would prefer more open communication. - Crazy during holidays and summer vacation. Don't get too many holidays off. Parents treat clinic like a daycare sometimes.
