Pros

Nothing positive to say about Stericycle.

Cons

Do not apply for Stericycle at 6375 NW 84th ave in Miami, fl. The management team is primarily geared to taking care of there own with regards to favoritism. Everyone is related to one another in some way or another. The relationship policy is violated so severely its unbelievable. The supervisors shows preferential treatment when it comes to overtime hours for there relatives on Saturday. They also force employees to violate D.O.T. hours of service by exceeding the work load not giving employees the ability to take breaks between there 6th and 8th hour of on duty. Eighty percent of the work force is Hispanic of either Cuban ,central american or south american descent. Their are only 5 African american employees and zero white Americans employed at this facility. If you are not Hispanic your chances of being treated fairly or given equal opportunities is nearly impossible. Since the placement of the new transportation manager a year ago there are a total of 15 employees that have either quit or transferred out due to the way the employees are treated. The entire management team is Cuban with the exception of one and that is only because hes been in position for ten years. The prior transportation manager who was white stepped down and relocated to a different facility only because she got tired of the behavior of her crew and the lack of support that she was getting from her superior who is also Hispanic. racism is also a severe policy that is violated at this facility.

Pros

I worked alongside a team that was consistently supportive and always willing to make time to answer questions, which made a meaningful difference in my day-to-day experience. There was a real sense of collaboration, and having people who were approachable and dependable made it much easier to navigate a fast-paced, high-volume sales environment. It helped create a bit of stability and camaraderie even during more demanding or repetitive parts of the role. Overall, it was a company operating as a leader in the space, which added to the scale and pace of the experience

Cons

This was my experience working at Shred-it, which is a subsidiary of Stericycle. If you’ve ever wondered what zero autonomy feels like, this is your spot. The day was a nonstop loop of cold calls, cold walk-ins, and more cold calls, with a mandatory “smile and dial” every morning. On the Shred-it team selling waste bins, it often felt like creativity and independent thinking were… safely shredded. Management could be extremely hands-on to the point of micromanagement, with frequent check-ins and scripted role-play scenarios that rarely reflected real conversations in the field. Communication style could come across as condescending or patronizing at times, especially on team calls, which made for an uncomfortable environment when feedback felt more critical than constructive.
