Pros
Working at Stock and Trade will be a perfect fit for you if you like working in a fast paced environment, building relationships with friendly new clients every day, and have a passion for design! I had never worked in an interior design/furniture field. The manager, Ashley, immediately felt like a friend during the interview, saw my potential, and hired me. She is flexible with the schedule and fair when it comes to time off. There is room for growth as I was quickly developed by management and promoted. The head of trade, Charlee was always helpful and knowledgeable. The back of house in our location was very helpful and always dropped what they were doing to help the sales team. I truly enjoyed going to work every day, as my coworkers soon became like family, and it was very fulfilling to set up a beautiful showroom and sell.
Cons
The training in this job is a very loosely structured more of “learn as you go” kind of feel. This isn’t totally a con, but expect to figure out products/information during your downtime and as questions come up with clients. The Nashville location is open 7 days a week, so expect to work every weekend in some capacity. This job is also a retail/sales hybrid, so salespeople do not make commission. This does not matter if it’s a $10 dollar accessory or 20k worth of furniture in a day.
