Pros
The co-founders aren't like any other tech start-up leaders I've ever met. They actually care about you as a person, and the balance you seek so that you're able to put your best foot forward. By far the most caring leaders I've ever worked with -- and this is consistent in their people practices as well. This start-up is still at the stage where we feel like a family, which is nice. I looked for this specifically when job searching. You truly get to OWN what you do. This comes with cons if you aren't confident in what you're doing (i.e. you don't get to hide behind anyone because you will always be held accountable) - but to me, that's exciting. You have the ability to explore and be creative and try new things here. We get 2 weeks off during the holidays!!
Cons
We all work remotely (we always have) and can be tough working across east coast/west coast timezones and without the ability to meet in person as often as we'd like. You also definitely need to make sure that you are resilient in a start-up environment. Things can change quite quickly and the ability to roll with the punches will be incredibly valuable.
