Pros
- 2 weekly company meetings where ceo and wife talks about feelings and the company’s hopes and dreams. It’s nice 2 hours of pay a week. - 2 separate buildings, Straine consulting side (very tense atmosphere) and in house financial side (super fun and relaxing). I was in financial side. We had potlucks, played games, and always had a laugh. - If you have taken all the 101 accounting classes you will become senior here in due time. They value time spent over there, however I went from a staffer to a senior in 4 months. They also have someone with a fashion degree and no degree as staff for accounting, so you can apply with no experience too! - You can start work early and get out early so you beat traffic both ways. In a nice area to walk around during break.
Cons
- There is a real chance Private Equity takes over and starts fresh which would mean firing you and every staff. CEO and wife have made it clear they want to sell soon and live life. - No dental insurance, earn about 1.5% PTO per hour worked, and health, vision, and life insurance are bottom of list. - Lack of internal controls on either side so anyone can do anything really. My first week task was undoing deleted entries from a dis-gruntled employee who quit. The employee was low level and had access to high security settings. - Sometimes, not always, the place feels tense. You will be working in a small room with 2 or 3 others so can feel crammed at times.
