Not an ideal work place - Esthetician Stript Wax Bar Employee Review

Pros

The appearance of this Salon is its prize possession. Clients are allowed to request you. Promotions are put out to encourage clients to return.

Cons

This salon runs out of supplies frequently. Such as wax, large sticks, 4x4, garbage bags, and products necessary to apply to the skin of clients post and pre-wax. This salon chain often makes paycheck mistakes. These mistakes include late paychecks, paychecks being dropped off at a location that an employee doesn't work at, mis-pay: incorrect amount of payment. You have to fight to get paid for your allotted sick pay. If you have a dispute with your pay, you run the risk of being taken off the schedule. When it comes to asking for a review or a raise you may never get it. Issues are often dragged out and the owners hold no accountability. If a bad review is given on Yelp they don't take into account

Pros

This was a truly innovative company who changed the waxing industry and gave inspiration to alot of people. Its sad that the pandemic forced mandatory closures for estheticians and created hardships for so many.

Cons

None that I can think of

Pros

Okay place to get experience if you have absolutely none and need some. Katherine (owner) is very sweet and I feel has great intentions.

Cons

Owners and rest of management are very unprofessional. You're treated like a child, so if you have ANY experience in the industry you'll get frustrated. There's no growth and little benefit in coming out of the company. Owners and management don't trust employees because they had one quit and start their own business that competes with theirs so they take extreme precautions that it won't happen again. Getting paid was like pulling teeth. Which is against the law, and the male owner made it seem like I was being a pest. Everyone is inexperienced. From management all the way down to the estheticians. High turn over of employees, so loses client trust. No support from management when dealing with clients. I could list more, but these were the main points.
