Pros

After working here - you will understand what you really want.

Cons

The absolute worst place to work, if you respect yourself and your career, I highly advise going elsewhere to avoid mental abuse. (If I could give -0 stars I would) They fired an employee who was struggling with addiction, and kept another employee for months after he physically threatened people in the office because they needed to hit a deadline. (these were some of the red flags I should have paid attention too) Speaking from experience, working there for almost 4 years being part of the design team and working up through to management roles /design supervisor, they do not respect their employees and management is extremely disrespectful & lackluster. They even got so desperate as to offer employees $60-300 for referrals for people to go work there because they cant find enough people to rip off and treat poorly! I would never had suggested this company even to my worst enemies. 4 years working at this company and 'let go' over zoom for "not being a team player" in their words after 4 years, ha!. In reality what transpired was they hired another family friend to come in and get trained by me, added a couple other foreign employees who needed a job for visas to work for a lot less. (I had worked endless unpaid overtime hours) and even had to go in on boxing day to set up their CNC machine due to their own failure to plan efficiently, while working through company events to hit deadlines other employees mishandled - not sure what they define as a team player!...) Generally -there is not much room to advance in this company, I only did because they absolutely needed my skill sets to get past some of their own growing pains. This review is nothing personal Lucas Epp, it's just business..

Pros

The company does cutting edge work in mass timber

Cons

There's serious churn in staff, between people being let go and others choosing to leave. If you're not a structural engineer, you may feel secondary to the business. Homogenous employee base may lead to groupthink.

Pros

Great community and atmosphere, personally was given a ton of opportunities to learn every area of the shop. It was very common to start as a labourer and then be given the opportunity to do things such as; go to school to become a carpenter, get tickets for overhead cranes and forklifts, become a machine operator, or work in the office on some occasions. Benefits were some of the best I’ve ever had.

Cons

The night shift was brutal for mental health, as the shift ended at 3am. Also, was promised a pay scale when hired and it unfortunately was not upheld later on which was a bit frustrating, however that was partially my fault as I did not get it in writing
