Pros

-Predictable: The same things happen basically every day, so once you get them down, it is nice to come into work and know what you will be doing. -Tips: Most subways offer credit card tips, but even the cash tips are great. -Scheduling: I have worked at three different Subways and all of them have been good about giving me time off if needed and fitting my schedule needs for work/life balance.

Cons

-Labor: Subway runs on labor hours and cutting people's hours can happen often due to business surges or pitfalls. Sometimes you will have major cutbacks if you are not a busy store. -Management: Differs from place to place. Some are uptight and rude. Some are slack too much and take advantage of their power. Some of them are respectful, helpful, and fun to work with. -Turnover: Lots of people come to this job and leave quickly. It is not a bad job at all, but people make what they want of it. You have to be willing to be a team player and get along with others. -Dealing with the public: Having to talk to different types of people can be really cool and fun, but there are a few that come through that will ruin your day. That will be any risk you take when working with the public, which you'll find are most jobs.

Pros

Very flexible scheduling, especially if your manager is willing to work around all their employees. You usually get a 50% discount that you can use once a day too.

Cons

Direct district management at this location does not know how to manage people. He will not really do anything to help or assist until his supervisors look into his stores and what he does. He will shift blame onto any general manager he can, and if any district manager decides you are doing your job incorrectly or you need to adjust what you are doing, there will be little to no support in helping you become a better employee. It really can become a "popularity contest" when you work in store management. If you are a regular employee or shift lead, you won't really have any direct contact with district management.
