Cnc - CNC Machinist Sullivan-Palatek Employee Review

Sullivan-Palatek has improved greatly in the time I've been here (3+ yrs). It used to be a high stress environment and has now become a scheduled and efficient place for a designer/engineer to learn the product and industry. They have developed and documented many of the processes which previously had not been done. The Engineering Management continuously modifies schedules to allow for employee's to participate in family/personal activities. Its more of a life/work balance than ever before. They have done a great job weeding out many of the prior underperformers in the department and have rewarded the high performers.

401K contribution is lower than regional average Vacation Accrual rate change is long

Decent pay for reasonably simple work with a chill environment.

The company struggles with making thought out and informed decisions regarding its policies, company projections, and handling of unforeseen events. Frequent revisions of policies that were not thought out well and ended up unclear and full of loopholes that left management winging it when they entered those unclear grey areas. Often to the detriment of its employees who were left confused on what and how certain things worked and were handled. Not in malice just shortsightedness. Also bad projections and choices based off them led to a recent layoff.
