I titled this review smoke and mirrors because the level of mixed messages and maneuvering that leadership and specifically the owner/ director did created such a level of confusion and fear that you don’t feel safe. There was a consistent feeling of not being able to ask questions and if you did you were made to feel both foolish and like a threat. Drink the “Kool-aid”or else. Communication with HR would only result in lack of answers from HR and retaliation from the owner/ director from the information that was shared and then used as a weapon. When pursing transitioning out of the practice in an ethical way, I was met with immediate termination and legal language being thrown as a scare tactic. My clients were left feeling confused and in the midst of trying to communicate and pursue continuity of care, legal action was taken by the owner/ director. I was made to feel afraid to even communicate with my clients in offering continuity of care. The feeling of money being the and priority and clients become property was very real. Upon retaining my own legal counsel I was informed of the consistent baseless allegations that were being thrown without any form or proof although the owner/ director had been expressing otherwise. I left Sun Point with a desire to not burn bridges and transition in a professional way and ended up feeling totally beaten down and bullied by the owner/ director. Since my leaving there have been 11 other clinicians who have left or been terminated in unfortunate ways. The impact this has on clients as well as the clinicians is unfortunate and avoidable.
