Pros

Absolutely no pros whatsoever! Just none! Can’t think of anything!

Where to begin?! There are none! Commission structure is something I’ve never heard of! $25 a lease?! I’ve been in the industry for years and I’ve never experienced so much lack of COMMON SENSE! Specially from corporate! Or maybe that’s just the managers not knowing how to Manage their properties or staff! Managers are no support at all! They come and go as they please and ask the office staff to “cover for them” if the AVP calls! Unbelievable! I have no idea why I took on the job. Stay away from this company!

Your experience with one manager should not be a reflection on our entire company. SunRidge has been in business for 25 plus years with a system in place that works for us and our communities. There is strict protocol set in place for leasing staff and assistant managers to receive their commission. If the job is done correctly then receiving commissions is not an issue. Our goal is to hire team members who can perform up to our company standards and follow company polices. Training, team work and making sure the job is done right is extremely important. You say our employees are too afraid to speak up, but you didn’t. If you felt your manager was not performing up to company standards, you should have spoken up. Nothing can be done if the AVPs are not made aware of the situation. We wish you the best of luck with your future endeavors and have a great day.

Pros

Because many properties are understaffed, there is always work to do, which keeps the days moving quickly and creates a fast-paced, energetic environment. It provides constant hands-on experience and the opportunity to learn how to handle a wide range of situations. If something goes wrong, it usually happens quickly, which teaches you to think on your feet, problem-solve, and adapt under pressure. For someone who enjoys a challenging and active workplace, this environment can help build strong multitasking and crisis-management skills.

Cons

This has been one of the most disappointing property management leadership experiences I’ve encountered. The overall management approach feels disorganized and unprofessional, with very little concern shown for protecting the owners’ investments. Rather than focusing on long-term property value and operational efficiency, decisions often seem short-sighted and reactive. What is most concerning is the lack of support for strong, hardworking employees. Good team members are not recognized or retained, while underperforming staff are allowed to remain without accountability. This creates a negative work environment and ultimately impacts the quality of service provided to residents and owners alike. I would strongly encourage ownership groups to take a closer look at how their properties are being managed.

Each community also a dedicated AVP for regional support, site visits and continued training as well as a VP who provides consistent oversight and accountability Protecting owner investments and supporting high-performing team members is a responsibility we take seriously. We are committed to structured training, operational auditing, and recognizing strong contributors while addressing underperformance in a fair and timely manner. We also recognize that execution at the site level can vary, and we continuously evaluate our processes to ensure alignment with company standards.
