Senior management that is condescending, dismissive, and out of touch, often disregarding frontline feedback and fostering a toxic "top-down" culture. Lack of clear direction or strategic alignment, leaving teams unsure of priorities or long-term goals. High employee turnover and low morale, driven by lack of recognition, growth opportunities, and trust in leadership. Reactive decision-making instead of proactive planning, creating a constant “firefighting” environment rather than sustainable progress.

The retail environment also builds strong communication skills fast.

Cons

The pace can be repetitive, with similar objections and explanations throughout the day, and performance is closely tied to metrics. Some days feel more like managing skepticism than having new conversations, which can be draining over time.
