Pros

Good co-workers (non supervisor) Ability to help others and the community Experienced Medics with great experience and willingness to train Opportunity to receive education ( EMT / Medic school) but must sign contract for min 2 years.

Cons

Anti-employee policies set by people who are not in the field Punishes employees for calling out sick (takes a day of your saved PTO and gives you an attendance point) Encourages employees to finagle/cheat the system in order to find a proper work life balance Do not offer any sick days or non PTO days. New employees can only accrue at most 10 days of PTO/year Some of the supervisors have a superiority complex and speak poorly to employees. Must join ambulance Union in-order to have protection, Company will not protect employees if issues occur.

Pros

The best part about working for Sunstar you will develop a second family. We all worked together to save lives.

Cons

Get experience and get out. Insane call volume, mandatory overtime and supervisors treat you less than human. If you make a mistake the company won't hesitate to throw you under the bus. Very few people here are happy or healthy.
