Pros
There is definitely more "Pros" than "Cons" working here; I am very thankful for the opportunity they have given me, since I was hired with no prior experience in the field and I am most certain not the only one that they have hired without any prior experience. The company "Sunstates Security" in general it is a very good company, with many good things about it, including wage (way above average in the area), advancement opportunities, more than enough hours if you are up for it, they don't force you to work overtime etc., that is just what it comes to my mind at the moment. In my personal opinion it has been a pleasant experience to work for Sunstates Security, specially since it is my first step in the Protective Services/Investigative field.
Cons
There is though "Cons" about it (not so bad, but bad enough to be mentioned), not as for the company itself (once again, I think the company is very good), but more with this post or location (I wouldn't know about any other locations), and to be more precise, with management. I do not want to be misunderstood, so I will try to explain; Management is nice, respectful, decent, they train properly, usually do not give problems about time off, in general they are good, but here comes the part that I don't agree with; The communication between management (In between Corporals, Sergeants, Sgt. Major, Lieutenant and Major) needs "major" improvement, because by the time the information gets to the security officers, more than half the time, each one of them is saying something different, (Of course, another bad thing, you don't really get to talk to the Lieutenant or Major) causing confusion, not only in the security officers but in the Corporals and Sergeants as well. One tells you it's good/right one way, the other one says no, one doesn't know about something and sends you to ask the other one, which is not sure about it and sends you to ask the Lieutenant, which actually it's very rare that he answers your emails, which leaves you with the option of actually going to the office, and if you don't work during "office hours" kind of makes it hard. So it's hard to get clarification on many things. Just wish it was different. Another thing, there is advancement opportunities, if you are good, but sometimes they just become an empty promise that will never happen, or at least take for ever. I would really like to continue working for Sunstates Security, but there really has to be improvement on this couple of things. I personally feel, that this few bad things can really make a great or at least above average employee (and a good asset to the company), someone below average. Which affects the company itself (Sunstates Security) and the employee.
