6yGlassdoor encourages employers to monitor this site and reply to reviews as job seekers want to hear from employers to get their perspective. We do not mind reviews as long as they are honest and accurate. There is always room for improvement, we consistently ask our employees for feedback and if there is any areas for improvement. Our employees matter to us, we are only as good as the talent we hire. It is very difficult for us to reply to this type of review as it is not accurate or truthful. We do not have a single employee that worked here who witnessed 10-15 employees being terminated. I have asked the administration department to pull the records in the last two years we have only terminated a total of 6 in a two year period of time, we feel this is average for the number of employees we hire due to growth and size of the company. We’ve been in business for 15 years and never had one single bad review until this past year. We have a whole office full of employees who do make mistakes and errors, everybody is human and errors will happen from time to time. We do not emotionally abuse anybody for making a mistake, instead we ask the employees feedback on how they can prevent the same error from occurring again, how to put a fail safe in place as everything we do in transportation is usually in real time and has consequences. As a result we do have multiple fail safe's in place that prevent errors or mistakes from happening; however they will always happen our goal is to have a very low %. We try to be as careful as we can in our interview process, it is very time consuming training new employees and when they don’t work out it does cost the company not only money but time and frustration on all the other employees working here. This employee did not have the skill sets for the job unfortunately, we always feel badly when they can’t handle a job in transportation. These jobs aren’t for everybody, they are very challenging, fast paced, problem solving positions. We go over all of the pros and cons of these transportation jobs in the interview process, we want to make sure that the candidate for the job is fully aware of what all transportation entails. In spite of this we will always end up hiring somebody that doesn’t have the skill sets they stated on their application or the personality for the fast paced transportation industry. This is also another reason why our job descriptions are so detailed in our listings.
We would like to address the 401K and Christmas bonus comment, although we don’t feel this is a negative we do a lot of other things for employees in addition. We have a recognition program in place and reward employees all year long with gift cards to restaurants, pen sets, concert tickets, thank you cards etc. We gave an employee just this last year a 500.00 bonus so they could buy their kids Christmas gifts, we gave 3 other employees a 1500.00 bonus to take their families on a much needed vacation, some opted for cash as they were closing on homes and needed the cash. We do stuff like this every single year, in addition we do have a 401K dollar for dollar match, a profit sharing plan completely separate and also a pension plan fully funded by the company and separate from the 401K. We also have a very gracious PTO program, paid vacations, Holiday pay, Bereavement pay, Jury Duty pay, full medical and dental etc. For Christmas we give out awards/trophies i.e. rainmaker award, perfect attendance etc. with cash bonuses attached to them, in addition to an end of year bonus, cash gift card for food at Safeway and Christmas dinner party. We work Monday-Friday with evenings and weekends off. The benefits and working conditions we have are some of the best in the transportation industry and we pay our employees very well. We give raises as they are earned even if the employee has only been here for 3 months, we reward big time when it’s necessary and warranted. We don’t mind paying for talent to keep and obtain good employees.
We have long standing employees who very much appreciate and like their jobs. We've worked hard on our "Culture" as well and it is one of honesty and integrity, we have long standing customers that have stayed with our company for 10-15 years, this is a testament to our customer service and our great employees that provide those services.
As a company we are really not sure what else we could do to provide a great working environment, pay, bonuses etc. We do the best we can and unfortunately there will still be people unhappy, we will never be able to please 100% of the people it’s impossible. The sad part about these type of reviews is that good people who do have the skill sets for these jobs may pass up a good job as a result. If you are interested in a position with our company, fill out an application, if you are invited to an interview we would encourage you to come and make an informed decision, talk to the current employee's etc.
