Pros

Generous discount and cooking classes

Cons

Short frequent shifts- almost always work weekends, low pay, little support from upper management- they actively try not to give employees two days off in a row etc. Standard in retail but Sur La Table should strive to do better by their employees.

- Very fun work - Get to work with professional chefs - You will actually learn more about cooking in this position than you will taking the classes - Employee discounts

Cons

- Low pay with no opportunity for advancement, not a career path - Sometimes kitchen is understaffed, putting a lot of pressure on you
