Pros

An occasional lunch, decent colleagues, small bonus once or twice a year.

Cons

Where to begin.... This is one of the poorest corporate coulters I have ever witnessed. It’s a siloed management style and different teams don’t speak to each other nor collaborate . This company had the most extreme micromanagement philosophy I’ve ever been a part of ( I was reprimanded for being 1 min late) . Also, if your start time is 9:00 am they mean be there 10 mins before as your required to be working and on the phones at exactly 9:00 am. The middle management is constantly watching you and I mean down to the key strokes and screen mirroring you as you work . This is a small sample of my close to 2 years there. Being intelligent, inquisitive and a critical thinker gets you no where at this company. You will get more and more work with zero recognition and a lot animosity from your superiors.. In fact the only real recognition I did receive in almost two years an email directly from the CEO Mr. Mucci thanking me. As one of the client’s I worked with was a personal friend of his and he was informed of the level of assistance and service I provided. Work/life balance is non existent especially if you have kids.. From Nov through Mid Feb no time off allowed and required overtime to the tune of working 50 plus hrs a week during those months. Also, hope a child does not get sick, as I was given a negative quarterly review, by supv on the basis I took too much time off . Well this Supv. I provided as requested by this Supv. A doctors note from my children’s pediatrician indicating their illness and their need to miss school but still did not matter come my quarterly review. I requested in my review that it be notated that I provided a Dr. Note but I was informed by my superior and I quote “ we do not go that detailed in reviews” Basically this is one of the most horrible places to work. Also this place will give you anxiety and an excuse to have a few cocktails when you get home just to forget. You will literally have a empty feeling in your stomach each day you wake up and walk in through those doors. Again, this is a small snapshot of my personal experience here, and work here at your own risk.

Pros

Good pay, decent benefits, unlimited time off.

Cons

From the start, it was uncomfortably obvious that at least half of the people in marketing had problems with one another. You could actively feel the tension in every interaction: during video calls, in email threads, even in Slack chats, etc. At first, I blamed structural issues. The various marketing teams were set up in a confusing way, and it wasn’t clear who owned what or who made final decisions. So I understood why everyone felt like their toes were being stepped on. However, I really think it goes beyond that. There’s a fundamental lack of respect, and it’s led to an extremely negative and passive aggressive environment. The pay is slightly above market value, which is what led me to accept the job in the first place (despite one of my pre-employment interviews with the team being so tense and uncomfortable that the hiring manager actually had to apologize). However, I really wish I had trusted my gut. My experience at SurePayroll was by far my least favorite of my entire career.
