Pros
There are a few pros. - The project management and engineering department team members are very supportive of one another. Anyone but those in leadership position (due to nepotism, leadership is filled with family/family-friends) - Small office, easy access to different departments - Free food once a month - Decent starting experience
Cons
Many cons unfortunately: - Toxic "seniors" working at the company. Many lewd insults/innuendos, slurs, and cussing thrown around (i.e. calling people b-word, p-word in Spanish, etc.). Unnecessary physical touch involved at times. Plenty of unprofessionalism in general and it comes from the leniency by leadership). - "We treat you like family" are words thrown around often. This does not reflect on the pay, which is well below average in the area. Don't expect proper pay increase either. This results in high turnover. - Encourages employees to work overtime without overtime pay by not discouraging overwork (this is an hourly position). - Nepotism. All leadership are family friends, many (not all) unqualified. Relatives would work within the company, unqualified. This prevents positive productivity due to fear of being driven out for formal complaints. - Leadership screams often, and sometimes can be at own employees. Leadership throws profanity around, setting the standard of the office to be low on respect and profanity. - Benefit package is abnormal. You get medical after 2-3 months, and you get 401k only after 6 months. No other company does this. - Many workplace drama occurs every couple of months. - Can't be in bathroom too long or a mass email about bathroom will be sent by leadership. - Leadership frowns upon work from home (unless you have seniority).
