Pros

Good benefits from insurance to vacation to 401K and employee stock purchase program. Challenging ever changing work environment that can be stressful at times but also rewarding when you and your team succeed. Sharing in the success of the company through rewarded stock as well as the stock purchase program. Small team environment that is much more personable than larger operations, you are more than just a number and team work is even more important because of the small team aspect. Many sites across the US and Canada allow for faster growth and the ability to relocate if wanted. Symbotic is a fast growing company which opens up a lot of possibilities for growth and career advancement.

Cons

Like any job that has to do with the food/grocery industry or logistics in general you tend to work longer hours during holidays and/or if anything goes wrong.

Pros

Interesting technology and exposure to advanced automation systems. Opportunity to work on complex engineering projects.

Cons

Poor work-life balance with high expectations and little flexibility. Communication from leadership and the general manager was very limited, making it difficult to stay aligned. There was also a lack of transparency around performance expectations and job security. Even when performing well and fully understanding the environment and workflows, employees could be let go without warning or a second chance. This creates unnecessary turnover and results in lost knowledge, requiring time and resources to retrain new engineers who are unfamiliar with the systems.
