Pros

Very little overhead, no performance reviews or active HR.

Cons

Extremely low pay unless you have connections to upper management. Problems with racism, sexism, nepotism. Upper management is greedy and will abuse and exploit engineers. They had a mass exodus about 3 years back, and another one earlier this year, but they are always hiring people from India connections, or those who are desperate.

Pros

Synapse Design management have a clear direction on what they are trying to do and bringing in right kind of people who can execute on that direction. I have served Synapse Design for over a decade, witnessed couple of home grown Lead Engineers/Managers climbed corporate ladder and became Directors and Vice-Presidents. Seen many fresh Engineering Grads out from college, joined Synapse Design as Project Engineer, pick up the skills required to execute IC Design and excel in the Semiconductors Design Industry. With proper mentoring and project experience, with in 5-8 years leading small project teams of 5 Engineers and then independently managing IP Design, Verification, Physical Design and Physical verification roles. Quest Global acquired Synapse Design and now it's under a larger umbrella. With global presence and multiple verticals of Quest Global, Synapse Design team has plans to grow horizontally across multiple sectors like Mobile Computing, Consumer Electronics, Automotive, Avionics, Defence and Space Research, Healthcare etc.,

Cons

Few shortcomings in my opinion are: 1. Management needs to have regular and continuous interaction with employees. 2. Constructive engagement with employees by conducting 'All Hands Meet' on every quarter. 3. Publish policy changes, White Papers on Industry roadmap and success/failure stories on company intranet such that employees are informed and prepared to face new challenges
