The company is very profitable outside of the United States. Synergy entered the US market through acquisition of several existing companies that operated in similar market space. Compensation is fair and there are sufficient learning opportunities to grow and be challenged. A good place for a young person who wants to learn in a mid-sized international corporation.

Synergy has had issues with executing their business strategy in the US and as a result cuts its way to profitability. This impacts low to mid level employees disproportionately while highly compensated executives are being brought on board. The founder of the company is cold in his approach and the culture is dominated by fear that you could be the next one to go at any moment. The organization is very top down and takes a view that "its my way or the highway" approach to conducting business. US based employees that were part of the initial acquisition are second class citizens and are the ones laid off. Sometimes for an obvious reason, sometimes for none. This keeps everyone off balance and walking on eggshells. I believe most people would leave if given the opportunity.
