Pros
I was a contractor at US Bank from Synico Staffing. I worked at the DCS location in Saint Paul and had the role of a Research Clerk in the Private team. I managed multiple accounts and did collateral reviews per agreements between us (the custodian) and the client. Also assisted coworkers on large deals that required reviews on 500+ files in a short deadline. It was a lot of independent work and the people there were fun to work with. Easy position to get your foot in the door and move up within the bank.
Cons
By rules and regulations of the bank, contractors are not allowed to participate in any bank employee engagement with regular employees. So it felt very awkward when you have to sit out of pot lucks or pictures. Management wasn't that great. Some managers claim that contractors are hired based on seniority level but there are many times where newer contractors are hired before older contractors. Pay raise wasn't much for regular employees. Synico Staffing also does not offer vacation pay and managers are ok with contractors taking unpaid vacation.
