Pros

One thing I really appreciate about Syscon is the caliber of people who work here. Even through change, there’s a deep bench of talent and genuine commitment to the company’s mission. Our product still stands out in the market with so much untapped potential, and there’s a lot of pride in what we build. Looking back, the previous Head of Operations deserves special mention—they were not only highly capable, but also brought a rare kindness and approachability to leadership. That set a positive tone for the company culture, and it’s something many of us valued. Now, with new leadership stepping in as of this month, I’m feeling optimistic. The current Operations Leader knows the product inside and out, and I believe this transition is opening the door to fresh ideas and the chance to build on what’s always made Syscon great: teamwork, opportunity, and a supportive atmosphere.

Cons

Opportunities Ahead The company is now uniquely positioned to rekindle and strengthen its positive, collaborative culture. With new leadership in place, there is a real opportunity to reestablish the supportive and inspiring environment that defined the company at its best. The transition period has highlighted areas where strategic direction and team cohesion can be significantly enhanced. This is a valuable chance for management to unify teams around clear goals and vision, leveraging everyone’s talents and ensuring that efforts are aligned for maximum impact. The recognition of employee burnout and shifting morale means there is a clear call to action: leadership can now implement sustainable workloads and robust support systems, boosting engagement and well-being across the board. With a renewed focus, the company can reinvigorate growth and development programs, restoring the opportunities for advancement that made this a standout workplace. The current Operations Leader’s strong product knowledge can be complemented by targeted leadership development—focusing on team building, strategic planning, and communication. This will help foster a positive, high-performing environment and empower all employees to thrive. This is also an ideal moment for management to genuinely engage with employee feedback, encouraging an open dialogue and ensuring everyone feels heard and valued as the company moves forward together. There is also a great opportunity to make Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion a true priority. Building a leadership team that reflects a wider variety of backgrounds and perspectives will only strengthen the company’s future and culture.

Pros

Good work-life balance. The workload is generally reasonable, and the tasks assigned are manageable.

Cons

Payments are often delayed — typically processed 3 to 4 weeks after submitting your invoice. There is frequent restructuring, which creates a lack of job security and overall instability. The work environment often feels rushed and reactive, with poorly defined processes and limited communication. Apart from your direct manager, there’s little to no interaction with the rest of the team, which can make collaboration difficult and leave you feeling isolated.

Pros

Easy, flexible, low profile job. The Richmond office is very quiet come 5 o'clock. Nice and only occasional travel to some very fun cities.

Cons

Not great with rewarding employees and the pay/benefits are marginal. The benefits trended down the longer I stayed. Never offered any training. Nice coworkers but the talented ones do not last. The tools/technology is decent but it doesn't offer many opportunities to branch out.
