Pros

Fiction trumps reality. Normally this would be a "Con" but since the business outlook is bleak (and getting bleaker) the delightful notion of an Always Impending Huge Deal with Big Company Y is a refreshing distraction to the executives who can't bear to focus on the rather simple realities of the market within which the company operates. Its really great. Each week the company is soaked in a new wave of splendid optimism as Executive X and one or two selected others flies to Company Y to discuss The Big Deal That Never Will Come. Another curious upside is that the executive team is always flush with new faces (since they are constantly being sacked) and doesn't really grasp much about the company, finance, technology or its products which makes Systech quite a fanciful and amazing place to work if one doesn't grasp much on those key topics either. It's also located near the NJ Turnpike, which is nice.

Cons

White boards littered with the artifacts of gross ineptitude adorn every office and conference room, yielding up rivers of magic marker nonsense to the hungry Gods of Incompetence. The inexperienced "guy at the top" actively promotes an organizational dysfunction that rivals only the former Soviet military apparatus in its inability to reward individual achievement while at the same time stifling innovation. Those that stay know they'd be unemployable anywhere else and cling to their jobs like the starving to loaves of bread while those that know they can find meaningful work elsewhere do. A toxic undercurrent of political subterfuge runs through the halls and permeates all conversation. New executives come in, invent problems and attempt to solve them in the interests of looking valuable while real problems remain begging for attention in their virgin state. To add to the overall depressing nature of the environment, the office building is blessed with a drab and foreboding future-of-the-past ambiance that makes one imagine it may have been lifted from the set of Logan's Run. There's not that many good places nearby to eat lunch at either.
