The company is run in a very controlling way, with the CEO trying to manage and make decisions about pretty much everything himself, even in areas where he clearly lacks experience. A lot of those decisions end up hurting the company more than helping it. The overall atmosphere feels toxic, and employees are often treated badly over small mistakes or things that shouldn’t even be considered mistakes in the first place. What makes it worse is the complete lack of accountability in some departments, especially the development team. Despite repeated critical software issues that have caused customers to cancel subscriptions and leave the platform, the developers are almost never held responsible. Customer tickets are also handled very poorly, with some issues staying unresolved for months, which has pushed many long-term customers away. The company constantly hires underqualified staff because the main requirement seems to be accepting extremely low pay. Salaries are well below industry standards, while employees are often expected to handle the workload of several different positions at once without any extra compensation. A lot of the positive reviews about the company also don’t seem genuine. Clients are reportedly encouraged to leave good reviews in exchange for access to outdated courses, while some employee reviews appear to come from people close to the CEO rather than reflecting the actual work environment. The product itself had potential at the beginning, but poor leadership and lack of originality have held it back. Many features feel copied directly from competitors instead of being properly developed in-house. On top of that, there seems to be very little concern for things like GDPR or proper data protection practices, which the CEO openly dismisses as unimportant. Communication between teams is either poor or basically nonexistent, which makes everyday work much harder than it needs to be. There’s also no HR department, since the CEO apparently sees it as unnecessary. Vacation policies are another issue. Time off is unpaid, and even asking for a short vacation is often looked at negatively, especially if you’re one of the more reliable employees. In some cases, employees are even blamed for problems that happen while they’re away. Overall, the company suffers from poor leadership, low salaries, weak communication, lack of accountability, and a generally unhealthy work environment.

nothing particular aside of a few nice people there

The company piles up too much workload and expects a high level of accountability while in return the company doesn't provide any benefits for it. Starting salary is usually around a few euros/hour, but they lure employees with some fairytales of possibilities to advance quickly and earn much much more within months, although that never happens. If you do job well, the management will burden you with more responsibilities, however, this doesn't come with the pay raise but they say, if you do your job well, you'll get one. And then they won't mention the pay raise anymore and they will leave you with all these extra responsibilities and even pile more at some point. They do appreciate your hard work and contribution, but with a pat on the back and "good job, pal", but once a year when they give pay raises, you'll get a slap in a face with a 5% per year. That's not a raise, that's a humiliation. And when I say "they" and "management", that is of course the CEO because he makes all the decisions. On top of it all, CEO constantly finds reasons to argue and offend employees and acts as a small tyrant most of the time. He also tirelessly checks the online reviews, so whenever someone says the real truth about the working conditions, he has one of his close associates who clearly lack backbone to submit disingenuous reviews that don't t reflect at all the actual work environment.
