Pros

Note: the dev team in TRD is almost like its own little company. The culture/work can be pretty different. - Flexibility/WLB. The devs get to choose the tech stack as appropriate and the managers make an effort to avoid micromanaging the team - Flat structure. Anyone can work on nearly anything. - No marketing department. You don't have to deal with any business folks. - Interesting and challenging projects. - Awesome culture - people are friendly, talented, and a pleasure to work with. IMO they care about you and interact in good faith

Cons

- Benefits (excluding salary) can be minimal depending on your employee status. - NASCAR isn't for everyone

Pros

- Race cars - Sports team like culture - Very active culture, lots of free food, swag, etc.

Cons

- stuck in a 20 year old mindset and tech stack. The supply team especially has been using the same in house system for 20 years. It's extremely manual and out of date compared to even the most basic systems today. Any thoughts for improvements are shot down. Leadership is surprised when there are failures and people don't bend over backwards to make a broken system work. - Lack of leadership. 0 developmental conversations or meetings. Management is too busy chasing day to day issues to have a long term plan. Same managers have been there for 20 years and won't change their bad habits.
