Pros

T & D Communications Inc. will remain one of my most favorite companies to work for in the telecommunications field because the venues and scale of projects varied widely so there was always something new to learn in my trade. I can only speak about the project manager I worked with during many projects whom was/is one of the most hard working professional people I've ever met and I truly hope T & D Communications Inc. recognize and appreciate how fortunate they are to have such talent. I measure a companies worth by talent retention, work place environment, employee skill enhancement and upward mobility. T & D Communications Inc. has many of these aspects.

Cons

T & D Communications Inc. relies heavily on outsourcing temporary employees. Although T & D Communications Inc. is a union represented company they have very few full time employees. The largest share of workers are temporaries harvested through outsourcing agencies. There are many experienced telecommunication technicians that accept temporary positions in this field, however if a client such as T & D Communications Inc. were interested in a direct hire (which they are not) being tethered by contract with the outsourcing agency a company would have one of two choices to retain talent. They would have to directly purchase the length of the contract equaling 450-500 hours of work (approximately 6 months) or work those hours through the agency. The first option being a very expensive upfront cost to the company. If the company does not choose either option, the employee is off limits to being hired while working through or for the temporary outsourcing agency. In this respect, T & D Communications Inc. full time technicians, 95-97% are hired through the use of nepotism.
