Some of the processes and technology used are out of date and difficult to work around, and there's not a clear path forward. A small team means many processes driven by convention rather than efficiency. Remote work is not supported in the ways many modern companies work, and because everyone is wearing a lot of hats, some critical support activities, like HR, benefits and Payroll taxes aren't at a level that they'd be at a larger company.
