Pros
Smart, dedicated people who care about the job they are doing and their place in the specific market they deal in. Folks are welcoming, smart and down to earth. They seem to care a lot about caring for the fine instrument community. The work is very interesting and meaningful.
Cons
Some of the processes and technology used are out of date and difficult to work around, and there's not a clear path forward. A small team means many processes driven by convention rather than efficiency. Remote work is not supported in the ways many modern companies work, and because everyone is wearing a lot of hats, some critical support activities, like HR, benefits and Payroll taxes aren't at a level that they'd be at a larger company. This is compounded for remote workers.
