Pros

I love how flexible the scheduling works! I have the freedom to set my schedule two weeks in advance but also make any last minute changes in case of family emergencies or situations, and it has come in handy! The pay is very good whenever you have shifts, even though it can fluctuate, any job is always at least $15 per hour, and that’s a big deal for child care! And I appreciate how it increases with the amount of children as well. This is a great company to work for! They are on top of things and they always seem to try and do what’s best for their employees and families. It’s also such a great incentive to have weekly pay and to sometimes include a little incentive for all our hard work. The staff members are also very helpful, kind, and understanding! And of course, one of the biggest pros are the great families you get to meet and leave a little touch of happiness with when you see them. And it’s a lot of fun when a family requests to have you come back! I’ve met some very sweet families and I enjoy spending time with their adorable kids! Overall, this company allows me to do what I love without having to deal with the unavoidable burnout that happens when working a traditional daycare or nanny job. THANK YOU TLC!

Cons

The only con I have to say about this awesome company, is that with so much flexibility, your pay can fluctuate a lot. And it’s not the companies fault, but just a result of having a very flexible schedule. I haven’t been able to put myself on the schedule recently due to getting over the flu, dealing with financial issues which in turn makes it difficult to possibly take jobs with how high gas prices are right now and not being able to afford to drive around for jobs and still have enough gas to get around or refill the tank (yes, it’s rough right now). So due to this constant change in pay, I’ve had to look for another full time job even though I would love nothing more than to have TLC as my full time job. It’s not anyone’s fault but, it’s difficult when you schedule yourself five days or even four days a week and sometimes you get one job inquiry and other times, you might not get texts about jobs for that week, so that part is difficult. That’s the only con I can say about this company but, other than that inevitable result that comes with such a flexible schedule, I enjoy this job very much. And I should mention that they do have the option to be placed permanently with a family, but the big thing that drew me to this company was the option to have different families and meeting lots of different people , and having variety so it’s not easy to fall into a rut or a zombie like routine every single day. It’s fun and it’s fresh, you never know who you’ll meet and I enjoy interacting with all different kinds of families and kids.

Pros

Pay isn’t bad. I think it started at $16/one kid. You can choose your own schedule.

Cons

If for example I tell them i’m not available on Tuesdays, they’d text me on Tuesday anyways asking if i’m available. Of course you’re “allowed” to say no to whatever jobs you can’t take on, but then I’d end up being penalized because since I said no, I’d get pushed down on their list of priority of who to ask first. Because there’s so many nannie’s, they go down the list one by one asking who’s available. I felt this was unfair, and they should’ve only asked me if I was available on days I specified that I would be.
